Andre Kojo Akintola – Let Freedom Reign

Andre Kojo Akintola, a multi-talented artist, who is quickly capturing the ears of many. With his immense vocals, and skilful rhythm guitar playing, Andre will, undoubtedly, have you hooked.

Today we are looking at a recent single of Andre’s and this one is titled, “Let Freedom Reign”. The reggae style tune is one that will have you bopping along and feeling free and positive. Andre reaches out to uplift you, touching on determination and the strength and freedom from a personal aspect.

From the moment this track begins, we are welcomed to steady rhytms, and a catchy beat, alongside other instrumentations. Andre features on this track not only as the vocalist, but also as a rhythm guitarist too and his talent is undeniable. As the track runs just over five minutes long, we are presented a brilliant, spacious tune, with a lengthy, yet incredible guitar solo.

Maryann Connolly – Who Whatever

Maryann Connolly, an actress, model and singer dropped an incredible single late last year, and you have got to hear this one! She has already achieved so much in career, including featuring on Nickelodeon, many tv features and appearing in multiple fashion weeks.

As I mentioned, Maryann released a brilliant single, and this one is a pop/rock track titled, “Who Whatever”. It is an upbeat, energy bursting tune, that will undoubtedly have you bopping along. With its driving beat, the strength and attitude really pushes through. This reflects on the actual meaning of the track, the idea of overcoming heartbreak, bullies and other obstacles of life.

Having this strong beat, and strong connotations, Maryann has paired her strong voice. She presents herself as powerful, but also controls herself. Her vocals are one no like other, with her attitude and vocal range, she is able to really draw us, as the listener, in and it actually leaves us wanting more.

Chris Oledude – White Lie: Carolyn’s Story

For today’s review we are going ot be looking at incredible track by Chris Oledude, that was released last year, and this one is, “White Lie: Carolyn’s Story”.

This track is quite an important one, focusing on the story where a woman lied and got a man killed during a racial battle. It acknowledges the battle of equality and further reaches out for truth and freedom.

Featuring, Wendy A. Ward and Lindsey Wilson, this track will have you engrossed both musically and lyrically. It is quite a lengthy track, lasting nearly 6 minutes long, however there is not s second of it that is enjoyable.

Kicking off with a spoken-word intro, where we are told about the information of the track, we are instantly engrossed. The vocals throughout are amazing, with a mixture of singing, and spoken word you will be kept captivated. The vocalists are undeniably talented, and they tell their story exceptionally well.

In terms of music, it is amazing. It is intense and builds up to a fast-paced and almost unrollable climax. It keeps you in with its tone and rhythm changes, which adds further intensity.

Richard Green – Ending Up The Wrong Way

Richard Green is an Italian musician, guitarist and composer. He has been releasing music for quite a few years now, and he just keeps on getting better and better. Today we are looking at a track Richard released a couple of years ago and this one is titled, “Ending Up The Wrong Way”.

“Ending Up The Wrong Way” is a personal piece, focusing on the loss of a love and how the breakdown of a relationship can transform your life.

Richard Green has done exceptionally well with track, where every single instrument really shines. It has quite a classical yet pop feel to it, making a track that is unique and enjoyable. With a stunning guitar featuring, this really holds the track together and enables the song to run smoothly in its storytelling. Furthermore, the beat of this track, keeps the track entertaining and further express the hurt, and anger that love can portray sometimes.

Syll – Council Culture

Syll is a talented artist from England. He has recently released his new track, “Council Culture” and this is one you have got to hear!

“Council Cultrue” is an honest and possibly relatable track, focusing on the experiences of living in a council estate and further challenging stereotypes. Teaming up with producer, Aniff Akinola, they have truly created an inspiring and amazing tune.

“Council Culture” is a short, but punchy tune. It is quite a fast-paced track, creating a sense of urgency to really push out Syll’s points. Although the music is minimal, it is highly effective. With a solid back beat, you will be bopping along, as it allows room for the rhythm and vocals to take centre stage.

Syll’s vocal delivery is one that is assertive and raw. He presents his vocals in a spoken word/rap style, allowing us, as the listener, to really hear and feel what he has to say.

For this review we are going to be focusing on a brand-new release by Matt Deangelis, “In This World”.

Matt is an incredible singer-songwriter who never fails to impress. With making his own music since the age of 8, his music has become one that is educational and positive. He aims to spread awareness about hot topics of today’s world, including the likes of climate change.

“In This World” is a track that focuses on the importance of unity and uses this to uplift and inspire. It is a quietly powerful tune, that uses soulful song writing and a warm, soft-rock band sound. It has a relaxed, yet swinging beat to it, enabling the music to be enjoyable but not overpowering. With a stunning strumming guitar and soft drum beat, this track is truly amazing.

The Cumberland River Project – Looking For Romance

The Cumberland River Project have recently dropped a new hit single titled, “Looking For Romance”. Featuring Liliia Kysil, this track will undoubtedly blow you away.

But before we get into the track, let’s have a little look at who the artist is. The Cumberland River Project, otherwise known as Frank Renfordt, is a country songwriter and guitarist. He has been making and playing his own music since just aged 10, and there is no denying his talent.

“Looking For Romance” slightly sways away from the country style, and into a more soul/rock tune. It kicks off with a catchy and groovy beat, where instantly you will find yourself bopping along. With an energetic drum beat and a feature of the horn family, the song resonates a lively and funky vibe. In addition to tis we also have some incredible guitar playing. There is no denying that Frank’s guitar is a major backbone to this track.

So, not only do we have a fun, enjoyable backing track, but we also have Liliia’s beautiful voice too. She has a very sassy yet angelic voice. She sings with such ease and with her wide vocal range, she can hit them notes better than most!
