Andre Kojo Akintola is multi-talented artist who is quickly capturing the ears of many. With his immense vocals and skilful rhythm guitar playing, his debut effort will undoubtedly have you hooked. Today we are reviewing the first single by Andre Kojo Akintola titled, “Let Freedom Reign”.
“Let Freedom Reign” is a roots reggae tune that will have you bopping along and feeling free and positive. The music reaches out to uplift you, touching on determination and strength and freedom from a personal aspect. The song features Sophia Levy from Indonesia and the Berlee School of Music on piano, synths and backing vocals. Strong drums by Alfred Adams from Guyana and potent bass from Warren Pedersen from St. Croix, Virgin Islands.
From the moment this track begins, we are welcomed to steady rhytms, and a catchy beat, alongside other instrumentations. Andre Kojo Akintola is the lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist on this track, and his talent is undeniable. “Let Freedom Reign” runs just over five minutes long. Near the end of the tune, Ping Rose from Memphis Tennessee presents a brilliant, spacious, albeit lengthy, yet incredible guitar solo.
In terms of vocals, again, Andre has smashed it. The vocal performance is one that is sincere, clear and actually quite warming. His vocals feature enough for us to enjoy his skill, but also leaving enough room for us to really feel the song, musically.
“Let Freedom Reign” was mixed by James McLaughlin in Charlottesville Virginia and mastered by Joseph Carra from Crystal Mastering in Sydney Australia. “Let Freedom Reign” by Andre Kojo Akintola is one of the best tracks I have come across. It is a stand-out, impactful and enjoyable song, that needs to be heard!
