MDK FLA – The Unintended Consequences Of Time Travel

Today we have decided to take it back a couple of years and have a little look at MDK FLA’s album, “The Unintended Consequences Of Time Travel,” which was released back in 2021.

First things first, let’s find out who MDK FLA is. Mathew Cobis is a US based artist and is the face behind MDK FLA. Although he only started this project a few years ago, he began it with very little musical knowledge and experience. This may seem like quite an unusual way to start off a musical career, but Matthew seems to have done it amazingly!

Another great thing about Matthew is that his music is so unique and is full of many different genres. Every song he makes is different, with hints of hip-hop, pieces of rock and even elements of pop.

Anyway, although this album was made back in 2021, it is undeniable that the ten-track record is amazing! After previously listening to MDK FLA’s most recent album, I discovered this earlier one of theirs and I could not wait to hear what else they had created.

As stated before, Matthew creates multi-genre music, and this album proves just that. He kicks off “The Unintended Consequences Of Time Travel” with a little pop-rock hit called “Enough.” I really like this one, and its inclusion of hard drumbeats, distorted vocals, and more harsher tones. Track number eight, “Unabated” also includes these traits but mixed with some more rap elements too.

For me, my favourite track has got to be number three, “Not Done With You.” This track is a more electric, hip-hop song, yet it is so interesting! The female vocals are a lovely addition to this song, and I honestly just cannot fault it. If I was to pick out and only recommend one song from this collection, then “Not Done With You” would be the one!

This album is honestly non-stop, and for it being one of his first pieces, it is ultimately incredible! There is pop, there is rock, there is surprise, there are instrumentals, there are extended versions. In reality anything you want; you will find in this album.

If you are someone that cannot commit to one style of song, then give “The Unintended Consequences Of Time Travel” a listen to, and you will find yourself a lover of every single track!

2-D – Homesick

Today we are looking at 2-D’s newest single “Homesick” which is from his latest album, ‘Halfway Down’.

But first, who are 2-D? Well, 2-D are a four-piece band who have created some masterpieces over the last few years. They are from rural England and will often be described as a post-punk group. 2-D take inspiration from other musicians such as Radiohead, Black Country, and Grizzly Bear. One amazing thing about this group, is that the members are as young as eighteen!

“Homesick” is a dream-pop/indie hit, and I must say each and every part of it is amazing. The track has a very gloomy hint to it, but between the music, the vocals, and the production, it creates an incredible sound!

The beat is quite hard and catchy, with it building up to a climax after a soft start. This is where we really get to hear the instrumentalists’ talents and is also a time we can rock out to!

The vocals in this one slightly different, due to the melancholic sound, yet the vocalist, Sean, does amazingly!

All I can say is give these young men a listen to and you will be more than pleasantly surprised with their music!

Kobe Fresh Outta High School – SAMPLE No. 8 EP

Kobe Fresh Outta High School is a unique rave artist who is climbing his way to the top. He is originally from Tampa, Florida and is known for his experimental, eccentric rhythms. He began his musical career in 2016 and since then, he has not stopped releasing amazing music!

I personally find that you can experience more from an artist by listening to a collection of songs rather than just the one. So here I will be reviewing Kobe Fresh Outta High School’s newest EP, “SAMPLE No .8”. This is a group of eight tracks, that really show and highlight his talent. This EP is the first collection of songs that Kobe has ever released after only releasing single after single.

As a fan of rap music, I was bound to love this from the start, but I must say I was completely amazed once I heard them! Every track is around three minutes, with some being a bit shorter, keeping his music short but certainly sweet. Every single tune of this EP brings an amazing vibe, and unlike some rap, every song has its own different sound. For me, I cannot seem to pick a favourite from “SAMPLE No. 8” as they are all amazing!

It is undoubtable that Kobe’s rapping is amazing! He raps so well and honestly deserves more recognition for his talents. His voice is clear and definitely not boring!

For an example, track number two, “Elephant” is amazing, with some incredible vocalism and beats. It is a laid-back yet catchy tune that is one you could easily listen to on repeat all day! In my opinion, the production, vocals, and music are all just as good, if not better than music you will find in the current top 40!

Rap fan or not, you must give Kobe Fresh Outta High School a listen to, and this collection is the perfect place to start with its range! I can assure that you will love him just as much as I do!

Koné – Deeper Sound

Koné is a young, new musician, producer, and songwriter, who is based in Leuven, Belgium. His musical passion started from just the age of six, with playing an old darbuka and has not stopped since. Koné has written and played for many bands including Tragic Eyes, Majé, and Amrita Khan.

However, now he is working as a solo artist exploring many different new ideas. His music has hints of tropical, afro, Indian and Latin.

Today we are looking at Koné’s newest single “Deeper Sound” and I must say it is a great one! This track is more of an alternative pop one, however he does include some amazing soundscapes within it. This song is incredibly catchy and honestly needs some more attention!

The music side is fantastic, with the inclusion of instruments and a steady drumbeat. This gives the song that memorability and really intrigues us. There are also some ‘nature’ sounds as well, which is unusual yet very interesting.

It is undoubtable that the vocalism in this track is amazing! The vocals are extremely lovely, and he has so much ability which is clearly shown in this track.

Additionally, Koné is known for making music that sends out messages relating to mental health and mindsets, which is very clear in this song.

Nick Endacott-Gibb – Better Days

Don’t we all love a good, different acoustic, folk track sometimes? I know that I do, because it is occasionally lovely to hear a more laid-back song, where we can really take a moment to appreciate the music and the vocalism.

For today, we are looking at one of these songs by Nick Endacott-Gibb called “Better Days.” “Better Days” is one of those tunes that I never thought I would love, but after one listen, I am completely and utterly mesmerised by the song. Nick’s track is an acoustic one, where the acoustic guitar is the highlight of the song. The way this is played is beautiful and I cannot fault the music in the slightest.

Now, I must say that Nick’s vocals are also unreal! The male vocalism is a perfect fit for the music, as he sings incredibly well and softly. After hearing Nick’s voice, I am super excited to see what other music he will be releasing for us!

If you find yourself to be a fan of this kind of music, then be sure to give Nick Endacott-Gibb’s “Better Days” a listen to!

As a starting artist, he has done exceptionally well, and I am so excited to see what other music he brings out in the future.

Today’s review will be on Kaiwyn’s new single, “You’re My Kind” and it is incredible! This track was released back in November, and it is the perfect indie-pop hit. I find this track immensely catchy, and it is so full of amazing beats! The music is also lovely, with a beautiful sounding guitar and feisty drumbeat, which together create a sound full of love.

Kaiwyn’s vocals are absolutely lovable in this track. His sound is soft yet powerful, and he is definitely someone that I want to hear more of!

Harshini Magesh – Seven

Today we are having a little look at artist Harshini Magesh and her most recent single “Seven.” This track is an incredible pop track and is one of those that you will find yourself listening to on repeat all day!

First and foremost, the beat in this song is unreal. It is laid-back yet gives off amazing vibes. The backbeat is one where you will find yourself moving your body along to it.

If you were to listen to this track, you will not be able to deny that Harshini’s vocals are amazing! She sings extremely softly, and her voice holds so much potential. Her voice even has reminders of artists such as Ariana Grande.

I cannot recommend this track enough and if you have not heard “Seven” go give it a little listen to and you will not regret it. Harshini has done exceptionally well with this song, and I am so excited to see what other music she will release in the future for us!

Modern Folklore – City Lights

Modern Folklore are five-piece band that are from Rapid City in South Dakota. They are an indie-rock group, formed in 2020, and came together through their mutual love of music.

After two years, Modern Folklore have already done many performances including opening for different bands like Frankie and the Witch Fingers. Today we are looking into Modern Folklore’s newest single “City Lights,” which was released in November of this year, and I must say it is a good one!

“City Lights” is a rock track, that is incredibly upbeat. This is the kind of song that makes you want to bop your head and tap your foot along to the music! Although rock is not usually my kind of taste, after hearing this I have to say I just cannot seem to stop listening to it.

The music in this is unreal, with an amazing drum beat and awesome guitars! The band are incredibly talented and every single one of them have their own specialties.

The vocals in this song are also outstanding! He has an amazing voice, and he has such a soothing voice.

If you are an indie-pop fan, then be sure to give Modern Folklore a listen to and I can promise you will not regret it!

Dorian – 33 EP

Dorian is a New Jersey born and raised artist. Dorian has always had a burning passion for music and loves to create it. He is a very genre-fluid artist that experiments with different styles, leaving us constantly surprised with his music. He also uses his own personal experiences and life stories when writing songs, to enable others to relate to and enjoy his music!

So far in his career Dorian has already won the title of “Artist Of The Year” at the DMV based independent artist platform, ‘EnJOY The Mic.’

After previously listening to one of Dorian’s tracks from this EP, “Blast Off,” when I came across this collection, I could not wait to hear the rest of the songs on here! “33” was released in the late part of 2022, and includes seven tracks, including acapella versions too!

For me, the best track on this EP has got to be track number 3, “Notice Me”. This is an amazing pop track, and that has an incredible laid-back feel to it. And as always, Dorian’s vocals are outstanding!

I absolutely love Dorian’s voice and the way he presents himself. His voice has that soothing effect, and also gives me reminders of other artists, like Craig David.

I think one of the most interesting parts of this EP is that he has included acapella versions of his tracks. This shows that he can create music of all styles and keep us intrigued. Acapella is definitely something that is unusual for us to hear and therefore was a big surprise to me when I heard them!

Anyways, Dorian and his release is something that you all need to listen to, no matter what music you like! You can find his EP “33” on music platforms such as Spotify now!

EDDZ – Happiness Doesn’t Always Last EP

EDDZ is a Northampton based musician and songwriter. Otherwise known as Liam Taylor, EDDZ creates alternative-pop music and has been performing live since earlier on in the year. As the artist continues to find his own sound, he also playing concerts in London, Milton Keynes, Bedford and more!

However, today we are looking at EDDZ’s newest EP, “Happiness Doesn’t Always Last.” This is a fantastic, four track long EP, and since I first heard it, I just cannot stop listening to it!

The music in this is incredibly unique and follow ideas of alternative-pop and synthwave. Every song has its own qualities, yet they are all amazing! Track number one, “What We Wish To See” and number three “A Life Well Spent” follow a very strict spoken word pattern, which although is not usually my cup of tea, I absolutely love!

In my opinion, my favourite track of the EP that I would recommend the most has got to be the second song on the collection, “Wandering.” This one is more of a catchy pop-rock track that gets you up on your feet. The vocalism in this one is also amazing, and I love the way EDDZ sings in “Wandering.”

Although you may not be a usual fan of alternative-pop, if you were to give EDDZ’s EP a listen to, you will undoubtedly love it! His sound is quite different, yet so mesmerising, as he constantly surprises you with his sound. Be sure to check out, “Happiness Doesn’t Always Last” on Spotify now and you will not regret it!
