Kelly Phoenix – In Your Eyes

Kelly Phoenix is a solo artist from Los Angeles, California, and his new single “In Your Eyes” dropped on 11/11/2022. Kelly creates a sound with inspiration from rock, pop, soul, and classical music, and honestly his music needs to be heard!

“In Your Eyes” was written when a friend of Kelly’s returned from Brazil and started strumming some chords on his guitar and from there the words and melody were born, almost from nowhere.

“In Your Eyes” is a mellow, acoustic song, filled with emotion, power and strength. The song is soulful and featuring just his voice and a guitar brings a beautiful touch to the track, giving it an almost magical feel.

Kelly’s vocals are fantastic in this, as he sings with such emotion and passion. Reminiscent of both George Michael and Michael Jackson, his voice is soft yet with a hint of grittiness that adds power to the track. The vocals are pure and real, and this is like a breath of fresh air compared to some other modern-day artists.

The guitar playing is simplistic, without being one dimensional, enough to accompany the vocals yet not too much to be overbearing and drowning them out. Adding any further instruments would be of a great detriment to the song as the bareness of the track’s sound is what makes this a great song.

Powerful, raw, and emotional are three words I would use to describe this track to someone who has not heard it before, and I cannot wait to hear more music from him!

So, if soulful music, made from the heart, packed full of emotion is your thing then please give Kelly Phoenix’s “In Your Eyes” a little listen and I can assure you that you will not be disappointed.

Notevenstevens – Patina

Notevenstevens is progressively growing artist, who creates unreal sounding instrumentals. He is a songwriter, producer and music enthusiast that takes you into the underground with his uniqueness.

“Patina” is notevenstevens latest single, and it is a great one! He teamed up with Femme Fatene, and together they have created an amazing track.

The music includes very modern, electronic synth beats, which create a surreal atmosphere. This beat is one that makes you want to move your body too and seeks out positivity.

I must say, the vocals in “Patina” are fantastic, as her voice gives off an angelic feel. She sings softly, and her voice takes clear inspiration from other R&B tracks. That is what makes this tune so great, as the combination of R&B and dream pop draws us in with its unfamiliarity.

Have little look below at notevenstevens music, and let them take you into a unreal dimension.

Mia Delamar – Silly

Mia Delamar’s latest drop “Silly” is the perfect R&B, pop song!

The vocals in “Silly” are absolutely fantastic, and her voice is so good you cannot describe it! Mia’s vocalism is ideal for this kind of track, as her performance gives reminders of artists like Mabel, Rihanna and Little Mix. She is a rising superstar, and I am so intrigued to see what else she has in store for us.

The beat in “Silly” is undoubtedly catchy, with a memorable sound. This is the kind of tune that you play on repeat all day. Mia has added the use of back-up vocals to harmonize with lead, which creates a beautiful sounding tune. Mia even has added a little rap to really show the talent of the songster.

If you are a fan of R&B, then Mia Delamar’s “Silly” is a must! You will undoubtedly love this song after the first listen, because I know that I did!

Nana Kottens – One More Chance

Originated from Ghana, Nana Kottens is bringing is African culture to his music, creating a sound that is just amazing.

Nana Kottens is heavily influenced by R&B, soul, hip-hop, reggae, and pop. When I first came across “One more chance” I thoroughly enjoyed it and found myself humming the tune later that night.

To kick this off, it is undeniable that Nana Kottens voice is unreal, he sings so clearly and captivates us with his sound and harmonies. His voice soothes us and makes us feel an overwhelming sense of relaxation.

The music has the reggae element combined with modern R&B, which really makes us appreciate the two different cultures, African and American.

Not only is the whole song amazing, but the lyricism is also understandable, as he is asking for another chance, something that many of us may have done after a dip in our lives.

Honestly, go give Nana Kottens’ song a listen to and you will absolutely love it! This one will undoubtedly be going on my own playlist.

Mark Winters – My Christmas

It is that time again when all the Christmas tunes come out! I don’t know about you guys, but I love it!

When I first heard Mark’s “My Christmas”, I was shocked. It is not the normal Mariah Carey style, but it is definitely just as good! Mark has taken the happiness of Christmas and combined it with an upbeat, folk-rock sound, and it has turned out amazing!

Mark’s voice is very real and pure, and he sings with such joy, enabling him to spread that Christmas spirit that we all know and love. I cannot fault his voice at all, and it goes so well with the instrumental.

Mark has been playing guitar for quite a few years now, and he is definitely good at it. The acoustics in this song, give us that more country side of rock, which is something we do not usually hear in Christmas songs!

If you are the mood for Christmas spirit, then give this song a listen to, and I am sure you will find yourself just as pleasantly surprised as I was.

Kelsie Kimberlin – Right Place Wrong Time

Kelsie Kimberlin once again has hit the nail on the head with this brilliant track, “Right Place Wrong Time”.

Kelsie is a young, growing songster, who gives her all in every track she creates, filled with love, magic and emotion. Her voice is outstanding every single time as she sings gently but with power.

When I saw that Kelsie had another song, I was straight away on it, as she never disappoints. The lyricism in this is one that many can relate to, about a failed love and heartbreak. The saying right place wrong time is something that we are all familiar with and Kelsie reaches out to let us feel empowered if we find ourselves in this situation.

This track is almost dreamlike and completely melts us with the lyrics and Kelsie soft, soulful voice. The music is designed to make us focus on the singer. Although the song builds up in the chorus, it remains fairly quiet and slow, really melting our hearts.

I cannot recommend Kelsie and her music enough! Go and have a listen to this tune and you will find yourself wrapped up in her music!

Marcus Quirion – Filet Désert

Marcus Quirion was born in Canada and has a love for music and poetry.

Although “Filet Désert” is a French written song, we can really take the time to appreciate the sound and the music of the song. It is an upbeat, fun-filled song that just straight away puts you in a good mood.

The musical side, remains upbeat, with a strong beat that makes you want to bop your head along to it. Each chorus is condensed with joy and a feeling of love and unity. Part way through the song, Marcus has included a great electric guitar solo, and although it is only short, you can really hear the talent of the band. Not only is the instrumentals great, his voice is fantastic and I find it so interesting listening to him sing in French.

After hearing this amazing track from Marcus Quirion, I am excited to listen other tracks of his and the music is so good and uplifting. Go and give “Filet Désert” a try and see if you love it as much as I do!

Micki XO – Fake Gold

Micki XO’s track “Fake Gold” is an absolute dream, filled with emotion, amazing vocals, a good beat and great lyricism.

Micki XO used her music to help her overcome her own demons and mental health, and she sings with hope that she can help others who are in the position that she was in. The lyrics in “Fake Gold”, show a sense of darkness, where her life has been overtaken by her mental health, a place she feels worthless and numb. This song is so important and holds such meaning.

The songster vocals are overwhelming, she hits all the right notes and sings with such peace and emotion in her voice. As mentioned previously, she wants her music to make people feel like they are not alone, and her vocals give a sensation of comfort.  The music is also almost psychedelic and flows with her voice so smoothly.

Micki XO’s music needs to be heard, and anyone of any age will thoroughly enjoy her music.

Karen Harding – Strong For You

Karen Harding is a young artist, who has worked tirelessly in her music career as a singer-songwriter.

My most favourite feature of Karen’s new release “Strong for you” is undoubtedly her amazing vocals. Karen sings with such emotion and power which really pulls you into the song. The song welcomes us with very soft vocals however the power builds up into the chorus, where we get to witness the strength and ability of Karen’s voice.

The musical side of this song is minimalised, as we only hear a few subtle instruments. At first Karen presents a few keys that get accompanied by a soft stummed guitar. This gives off a very mellow vibe, where the main focus is her voice. Drums are then introduced in the chorus, which give the song a bit more kick.

I honestly cannot criticize this song at all!

If you are in the mood for a quiet, emotional yet effective song for a rainy day, then Karen Harding’s song is a must!

StarAV – Loneliness

Who doesn’t love a good pop rock classic? I know I do, and I am sure you do too!

StarAV, has just dropped their new hit “Loneliness” and you would be silly to not give it a little listen to!

“Loneliness” is slightly different from the usual rock song you hear, as it has elements of alternative, pop, synth and indie. This may seem like an unusual combination, but after hearing this track I can certainly say I am not disappointed!

This song includes a harsh drumbeat with the instruments giving a growly sound. The vocals also almost feel like they are being dragged, which gives the song a feeling of sadness. The title being “Loneliness” really highlights the musical and vocal elements. However, all the vocals in this track are great, and cannot be faulted.

If you have never heard StarAV, then give their new release a go. You could also support them by giving their other tracks a listen to too!
