Anton Commissaris – She’s Not The Hurting Kind

Anton Commissaris, a music composer, pianist, and vocalist, is a lover of music, but has always been an extreme sucker for jazz. Anton is based in San Francisco Bay Area and takes musical inspiration from artists such as Cole Porter and Antonio Carlos Jobim. However, his vocal style stems from inspiration from artists such as Frank Sinatra and Paul McCartney.

Today we are having a look at one of Anton’s most recent tracks, “She’s Not The Hurting Kind,” which is off the EP, “Off The Shelf.” After previously hearing another track from this EP, I was super excited to hear another one!

“She’s Not The Hurting Kind” is undoubtedly a swinging, jazz track. This one is quite laid back, yet the unusual drum pattern makes you bop your head along to the song. Anton has included a lot of jazz elements track to this song and although jazz is usually like marmite (you either love it or you hate it), somehow, he finds a way to create a song that can be enjoyed by everyone.

Anton’s vocals are incredibly good, as his voice is quite deep, it kinds of add a mysterious touch to the track.

Jazz fan or not, check out “She’s Not The Hurting Kind,” and I guarantee you will find yourself jamming along to it!

Something about this track just mesmerises you, and makes you want to listen to it on repeat all day!

The song is upbeat, cheerful and a great one to dance to!

Brainheart – Keep Me From Falling Apart

Brainheart, also known as Roi Zohar, is a popular and independent music producer, songwriter, and DJ! Roi has always had a love for music, with his passion stemming from piano lessons at the age of just fifteen. And due the difficulties he was experiencing in his school, the music helped him escape and distract him. Brainheart wants his music to have a similar effect on other people, with it helping the many generations to come!

Today we are looking at one of his most recent singles “Keep Me From Falling Apart.” The song is a heavily emotional song yet has an extremely catchy beat. The track begins off slow but then kicks in with a dance beat, which is perfect to move your body to. Later on, in “Keep Me From Falling Apart,” there is the inclusion of a little guitar solo, which is so unexpected and really spices up the track a little bit. However, the lyrics are quite dark, as Roi sings about battling with issues that can also affect your mental health.

The vocals in this song are amazing! You can really hear the emotion in his voice, and he is honestly such a pleasure to listen to.

Luckily for us that’s not all! Brainheart have also released an acoustic version of this track. This has a very different vibe and is much deeper and soulful. So, if you find the dance track is not for you, you can also give the acoustic version a listen to! I myself just cannot decide which one I prefer!

The Philadelphian artist Diamond Blacc is a rising rap artist who has always had a love for music. Diamond Blacc finds music incredibly important, and he reaches out so his music can help lift people up, empower them and even inspire them. A lot of his music is based on his own personal experiences, which make his music that bit rawer.

“Demons” is the perfect rap single, which was released earlier on in 2022, and I am so glad I have come across it! As a passionate fan of rap music, when I first heard this song, it was like heaven. If you want to know why, then have a little read on.

First of all, the beat in this track is to die for! You will constantly find yourself moving your head and your body to the beat. Due to it being very upbeat, and the inclusion of basslines, and unusual sounds, the song keeps you engrossed within it for the entire duration.

It is undoubtable that Diamond Blacc’s vocals in this are fantastic! His rapping skills are unbelievable and give me reminders of other big rap stars like Eminem. The best part about this track is that it is one that everyone can enjoy, rap fan or not.

Ljug Aldrig is a singer-songwriter born in Bromsten in Sweden. Ljug Aldrig, otherwise known as Roosen, has been a lover of music for his whole life, and worked it alongside his career as a visual artist.

For this review, we are looking into his newest single, “Seashells” which he released right at the end of 2022, and I must say, what a way to finish the year! For this one, he has teamed up with the lovely Elliphant, and together they have created an amazing piece of music!

This song is a beautiful, acoustic track, that just melts your heart from the moment you hear it. Due to the song’s nature, this song creates a relaxing effect, and one that makes you just sit back and appreciate the song. Although the track is slightly longer, almost reaching six and a half minutes, you never find yourself bored of listening to it!

There are two vocalists in this track, Ljug himself and Elliphant. Their voices fit together incredibly well, and the way that they sing is flawless. The harmonisations and melodies are beautiful. The only way I can describe their voices is euphonious!

After hearing this song, I am definitely going to give both of the artist’s music a little listen to, because I am ultimately amazed!

What a lovely way to end 2022!

Jewelia – The Comfort Of Falling

Jewelia, a singer-songwriter based in London, but born in Romania. She combines the idea of nostalgia with indie-pop and piano led songs. This style originates from other artists who are heavy on the piano such as Kate Bush, Lana Del Ray, MARINA and also Billie Eilish. With already over one million views on her YouTube channel, and features on BBC Radio Kent, and twenty other radio stations, Jewelia is rising her way through the music industry.

Anyway, today we are looking at Jewelia’s newest single, “The Comfort Of Falling” which was released in November. As we know she is a fan of the indie/folk pop style of music, and that is evident in this track. I personally find this song extremely engrossing and is one I could easily listen to all day and not get bored. The track is beautiful and melodic, with strong emotion in place.

One thing about this song that cannot be argued with is that Jewelia has a lovely voice. The way she sings somehow manages to warm my heart every time. And we all love a good, strong female vocalist, and that is exactly what she is!

Rob Eberle – Reckless (feat April Rose Gabrielli)

The New York native, Rob Eberle has been releasing music since 2020 and is slowly climbing his way to the top with his outstanding music and song writing. Now Rob has just released another great single called “Reckless,” and for this one he has collaborated with April Rose Gabrielli!

“Reckless” is an incredibly relaxing, and beautiful song, that is perfect for a rainy day! The piano-led tune is so flawless, and I have not stopped listening to it since I first heard it. For the majority of the track, the music is quiet, but it does build up to a climax, which gives the song more a flow.

There are two vocalists present, Rob, and April, and I must say, both of their voices are wonderful, and literally sound like heaven. Their two voices blend exceptionally well together, and you could honestly not find two voices that go as well together as they do.

I am so excited to give other music by Rob a listen to, and if you are on for a more relaxing tune, then definitely give “Reckless” a listen to and you will undoubtedly love it!

Rogue FX – Filofax

Rogue FX, otherwise known as Andrew Wood, is a synth pop artist from the North-East of England. Andrew has been creating music for decades, with some major club hits back in the 90s. However, after a quiet period, he is back as Rogue FX and is now making his own amazing music.

“Filofax” is Andrew’s most recent single, and this one is full of synth, and takes on quite an interesting style. I personally have always been fascinated by synthwave, and hearing Rogue FX’s music has really interested me. After previously working on another hit of Andrew’s, “Don’t Talk To Strangers”, I am now wrapped up in his style!

Anyways, “Filofax” is a very 90s inspired hit, that is groovy and a perfect track to dance to. The drumbeat is so captivating with its unusualness and makes the song that bit more enjoyable. The inclusion of other unique sounds also really brings an experimental element to the song.

The vocals in “Filofax” are also great! The male vocalism is a perfect fit for the music, and Andrew has even included the use of back-up vocals in the background.

Ultimately, the song is fantastic across all parts, and is one that any synthwave fan should give a little listen to! Its modernness combined with inspiration from the 90s, creates such an amazing sound that you cannot help but love.

Neon Black Dreams – Kiss Of The Universe

Neon Black Dreams was formed in 2021, and reach out to combine the different genres including pop, synthwave, R&B and even rock! They use these to create their own unique sound, and you just cannot help but enjoy it!

“Kiss Of The Universe” is Neon Black Dreams latest single, and I must say I am overwhelmed by it! This track is not my usual type, but its uniqueness and mysteriousness certainly grabbed my attention from the beginning. You will never find yourself bored of this track, as it starts off slows and mystifying, but it then builds up where a full band joins. Every single part of this track is brilliant, and as the beat builds up, you will find yourself nodding your head along to the beat.

My favourite part of this track has got to be the amazing vocals, that are sung by a female. Her voice is incredible, and she sings so melodically and has lots of power in her voice.

If you have never listened to Neon Black Dreams, but are a fan of electronic/alternative pop, then definitely give this track a listen to, and you will not be disappointed!

Born in Alberta, the Métis singer-songwriter Cynthia Hamar, is increasing her following with her fantastic music. Cynthia has already released four studio albums and has even toured across Canada. Her sound has been compared to other artists like Buffy St. Marie, Tom Waits and Feist. Her music is haunting and introspective folk music and is definitely worth listening to!

“Where Your Love Lies” is the track we are listening to today, and it is one from her most recent album, ‘Joint & Marrow.’ It even has its own music video, which is undoubtedly a cute, good watch.

As always, Cynthia’s track is of folk style, and is unquestionably a great song! The tune is quite laid-back and relaxing, with quiet instruments in the background. The use of guitars is amazing and makes the song so engrossing.

Cynthia’s vocals in this track are beautiful, as her voice is incredibly warming and soulful. She has the type of voice that you fall in love with instantly, and that you just cannot get enough of. The song is so loving, and the music video is so sweet, which just makes this track that little bit better.

Anyway, give Cynthia’s track a listen to, and you will not be disappointed!
