Dorian – 33 EP

Dorian is a New Jersey born and raised artist. Dorian has always had a burning passion for music and loves to create it. He is a very genre-fluid artist that experiments with different styles, leaving us constantly surprised with his music. He also uses his own personal experiences and life stories when writing songs, to enable others to relate to and enjoy his music!

So far in his career Dorian has already won the title of “Artist Of The Year” at the DMV based independent artist platform, ‘EnJOY The Mic.’

After previously listening to one of Dorian’s tracks from this EP, “Blast Off,” when I came across this collection, I could not wait to hear the rest of the songs on here! “33” was released in the late part of 2022, and includes seven tracks, including acapella versions too!

For me, the best track on this EP has got to be track number 3, “Notice Me”. This is an amazing pop track, and that has an incredible laid-back feel to it. And as always, Dorian’s vocals are outstanding!

I absolutely love Dorian’s voice and the way he presents himself. His voice has that soothing effect, and also gives me reminders of other artists, like Craig David.

I think one of the most interesting parts of this EP is that he has included acapella versions of his tracks. This shows that he can create music of all styles and keep us intrigued. Acapella is definitely something that is unusual for us to hear and therefore was a big surprise to me when I heard them!

Anyways, Dorian and his release is something that you all need to listen to, no matter what music you like! You can find his EP “33” on music platforms such as Spotify now!

EDDZ – Happiness Doesn’t Always Last EP

EDDZ is a Northampton based musician and songwriter. Otherwise known as Liam Taylor, EDDZ creates alternative-pop music and has been performing live since earlier on in the year. As the artist continues to find his own sound, he also playing concerts in London, Milton Keynes, Bedford and more!

However, today we are looking at EDDZ’s newest EP, “Happiness Doesn’t Always Last.” This is a fantastic, four track long EP, and since I first heard it, I just cannot stop listening to it!

The music in this is incredibly unique and follow ideas of alternative-pop and synthwave. Every song has its own qualities, yet they are all amazing! Track number one, “What We Wish To See” and number three “A Life Well Spent” follow a very strict spoken word pattern, which although is not usually my cup of tea, I absolutely love!

In my opinion, my favourite track of the EP that I would recommend the most has got to be the second song on the collection, “Wandering.” This one is more of a catchy pop-rock track that gets you up on your feet. The vocalism in this one is also amazing, and I love the way EDDZ sings in “Wandering.”

Although you may not be a usual fan of alternative-pop, if you were to give EDDZ’s EP a listen to, you will undoubtedly love it! His sound is quite different, yet so mesmerising, as he constantly surprises you with his sound. Be sure to check out, “Happiness Doesn’t Always Last” on Spotify now and you will not regret it!

TONYC, otherwise known as Jake Benner, is a German music artist. He began his career in 2012 as music producer and DJ and loves to experiment with his musical style. He started with playing in local clubs and bars, and now has built up a large following.

TONYC is now based in Freiburg, Germany, and is continuing to play at great parties and clubs, whilst making music in the studio!

“Unreal” is the single that we are looking at today which was released earlier on in the year. This is a track full of electronic, rave and house elements. This has got to be the ultimate party track, that is perfect for nightclubs! The beat is quite literally ‘unreal,’ and incredibly catchy, with the inclusion of many different experimental styles.

This tune does not include lyrics; therefore, we really get to enjoy the music and its beat.

TONYC and his musical productions are honestly out of this world, and I cannot wait to see what else he has in store for us! Give him and his single “Unreal” a little listen and you will undoubtedly love it, especially if you are fan of clubbing!

William Hut – Don’t Give Up

William Hut, who comes from Bergen, Norway, creates incredible indie-pop hits. With at least nine album releases, and two decades of work, William is one of the most successful Norwegian indie-pop artists and is continuing with his talent.

“Don’t Give Up” is William’s most recent single, released at the beginning of 2023, and all I can say is what a way for William to kick off the year!

From the moment I first heard this song, I was completely mesmerised. The soft indie-pop style is so warming in this instance, and I must say it is such a beautiful track. The laid-back, peaceful vibe of the track is extremely effective, as we are absorbed in the music.

It is inarguable that William’s vocals are amazing! He sings with such softness and his melodic, soulful voice is a perfect fit for the music. After hearing his voice in this track, I am so invested in him and seeing what other amazing music he has created in the past.

I cannot recommend William Hut and his new track “Don’t Give Up” enough, and it is undoubtable that you will love it! It is now available across many platforms, including a little lyric video on YouTube!

I cannot lie, I absolutely love this track! It has all the right elements to create the perfect pop-rock track. The vibes in this track are quite amazing, as they make you bop your head and tap your foot along to the beat. The relaxed music and little guitar solo towards the end of the track are also very effective.

Megan has a beautiful voice and the way she sings is undoubtedly incredible. Her vocals actually give you chills, and I cannot wait to see her and her voice progress.

Charlie Freeman – It’s Christmas (Let’s Be Kids For A Day)

Based in Portobello, London, the singer-songwriter, and actor Charlie Freeman creates incredible, catchy music. Charlie performs with a live band and is known for writing heartfelt, melodic tracks, usually about love and freedom. He has always had a burning passion for music and uses this to bring people together.

Now I don’t know about you, but I am a lover for the Christmas tunes and with the festive season quickly approaching, I am always looking to hear new Christmas tracks! Luckily for us, Charlie has previously created his own festive track back in 2020 called “It’s Christmas”.

Anyways, this track is the perfect, fun filled track that brings about feelings of nostalgia and gets you reminiscing about the good times, from when you were younger! Playing this tune, will really help unite people and celebrate.

Charlie’s song is an indie/melodic rock track that really engrosses us. Although the track is not particularly a dance track, it still enables us to enjoy the music and dance along to it.

Undoubtedly, Charlie’s vocalism is unreal. With his soothing, sweet vocals, us listeners are really able to appreciate Christmas.

If you are getting bored of the same old original festive tracks, then move on from Mariah Carey and give Charlie Freeman a listen to!

Gabriel Munoz – Fake Highs

Gabriel Munoz is a born and raised LA star, that reaches out to take a feel-good approach on music. His music tends to be incredibly catchy and follows many ‘pop’ trends that we all know and love!

“Fake Highs” is Gabriel’s most recent single, and I’ve got to say, I love it! This track is an upbeat, joyous one, where the music makes us want to dance along to it. Despite the dance beat, the lyricism in this tune is a lot darker. The low lyrics touch on the subject of drug abuse and the challenging times that many teenagers and young adults go through. The pressure of society and education/work can sometimes become a lot, where we end up convincing ourselves that we are ‘happy,’ and that is exactly what “Fake Highs” is all about.

I, for one, am a massive fan of Gabriel and his voice. His vocals are incredible, and he sings with such emotion. His voice is one that you could easily listen to all day!

If you are a fan of dance-pop tracks that have a powerful meaning behind the lyrics, then Gabriel Munoz’s track “Fake Highs” is the perfect song for this! I cannot wait to see Gabriel’s music grow as he gains more and more popularity.

Luke Frees – If There Ain’t A Heaven

Luke Frees is a Chicago based singer-songwriter, performer, photographer, and producer. Luke has been writing his own songs for years, on his own and as a band. He first produced and recorded his own EP ‘After the Rain’ in 2017. This music was heavily influenced by artists such as David Bowie. After this he joined a band, however, for the past couple of years, Luke has been working as a solo artist, and is increasing his platforms as he goes.

Luke has just dropped his newest single “If There Ain’t A Heaven” in December 2022, and I must say what a way to end his musical year! The track is a beautiful, slow-paced, relaxing tune, that is so lovely to listen to. The idea of the track being acoustic, really takes things down a notch, and enables us to enjoy the track, and appreciate the vocals.

Luke’s voice is something else! His voice brings about such a warm feeling, and he has such a wide range. These kinds of vocals are ones that make you fall in love with them instantly, and ones that you can never get bored of.

The song ends in a gorgeous piano solo, which is almost dream-like. Once you reach the end, you will find yourself eager to go back and listen to it again and again! If you are yet to hear Luke and his music, this has definitely got to be the track that you start with!

The Romanian singer-songwriter, Jewelia, is a London based nostalgic indie-pop artist. Jewelia creates music that is majorly led by a piano, and takes influence from other artists who do so, such as Kate Bush, Lana Del Ray, and Billie Eilish.

Jewelia has already reached an exceptional total of one million views on her YouTube channel and has even featured on BBC Radio Kent and at least twenty other radio stations! Jewelia is an artist that I absolutely love, and after previously reviewing a track of hers, I just could not wait to get into another one!

“The Best We Can” is Jewelia’s most recent single, that has just come out this month! This track follows her love of acoustic and folk-pop music and has got to be her best track so far! This is quite a laid-back tune, that includes a beautiful sounding acoustic guitar. The sweet sound just completely warms us and wraps us up in the music.

However, that is not all! The vocals in this track are absolutely mind blowing! Jewelia has such a soft voice and the way she sings is almost angel-like. Her vocalism is one that you can never tire from, and I personally would not have a problem listening to her on repeat all day!

Voké is a Nigerian born singer-songwriter, who is now based in London, UK. Due to her being highly religious, she always reaches out to uplift people and spread important messages with her soft soothing tones. During her career she has had the opportunity to share a stage with some incredible artists such as Noel Robinson, Graham Kendrick and Chevelle Franklyn. Not only does she have incredible musical talent, but she has also got a degree in computer engineering!

Just in time for Christmas, Voké has released her own festive track, “Christmas Time.” This is a perfect, cheerful, and jolly holiday tune, that brings about so much and happiness and positivity, which is exactly what we need at this time of year! The song sings about the importance of Jesus and his birth, and kind of escapes us from reality, and just makes us excited for Christmas!

The whole song is upbeat, and even includes Christmas sleigh-bell sounds, just to add that festive joy.

Ultimately, her vocals are unreal! The way she sings is incredible, and her voice definitely needs more recognition! I cannot wait to see what else Voké has in store for us!

If you want to get yourself into that festive spirit, then give this song a go, and by the end of it you will be decorating your tree and wrapping your presents!
