Tuulikki Bartosik – Playscapes

Let’s kick this off with who is Tuulikki Bartosik? Tuulikki Bartosik is a Swedish-Estonian musician who is an accordionist, composer, singer and multi-instrumentalist. She has degrees in classical and traditional music and uses her knowledge to create some amazing music! Her music is very different and very layered and has even been compared to the neoclassical works of Eric Satie and work from 1970s stars such as Philip Glass and Terry Riley. Her talent is endless, with the skill of playing an accordion and has become one of Northern Europe’s greatest creative performers and composers.

Today we are looking at Tuulikki’s most recent album which has just dropped. All I can say is wow, what a way to start off the new year! “Playscapes” is a twelve-track long album, and each and every song is amazing in its own way! Something unique I noticed about this album is that majority of the track names are cities, for example, “London” and “Robertsfors”.

The first track I am going to talk about today is the second song on the list, “Hibiki”. “Hibiki” is a Japanese word which can be translated to echo. This song is fully instrumental and even has parts that feel like an echo in the music. I for one am not usually a fan of instrumentals, however, this track is incredibly interesting and engrossing. The sound it creates is quite mysterious and it has really been produced well.

Another great instrumental in this album is the song, “London”. This one is also just pure music, however as a Londoner, I can really see where Tuulikki got her inspiration from. This song almost makes you feel like you are in London, with the rushing around, a sound of a clock ticking (maybe Big Ben) and even with the faint siren-like sounds that are in the far distance.

However, not every song on this album is an instrumental, for example the first song of the album, “Robertsfors” has some amazing vocals in it! This song is so mystical, and honestly is so lovely to listen to.

This album is full of surprises and unique elements. I cannot give this album the credit it deserves, you must give it a listen to, and you will undoubtedly find it so engrossing, where you are stuck in a little world of your own whilst listening to it! “Playscapes” is available on Spotify now!

Jordan Jones – Sabotage

Jordan Jones is a lover of music and reaches out to spread love and happiness through his music. He takes heavy inspiration from many different genres including pop, R&B, soul and rock. He has already toured across Canada for over a decade, performing with one band as lead vocalist and another band as lead guitarist.

Luckily for us, Jordan Jones has just released a fantastic new single called “Sabotage.” As we know he takes a lot of influence from different genres and in this song, we can definitely hear elements of pop, electronic pop and even hip-hop. This song has got to be one of my personal favourites and will definitely be one I will be adding to my personal playlist.

The beat in this one is incredible! It starts off slow but hard and ends up building up to an extremely bass-led and upbeat chorus. The music has that bassline that gets you moving your body along to it and honestly creates such a good feel.

Undoubtedly, Jordan’s vocals are also outstanding! I love a voice that is not too overpowering, but still manages to express talent and that is exactly what he does.

Jordan unquestionably deserves more credit for this song, so go and give “Sabotage” a listen to, and become a fan of Jordan Jones!

Raine Stern – So Precarious

Raine Stern is a young singer, songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist. Raine is originally from Madison, Wisconsin and first picked up a guitar at just the age of eleven. Her song writing is incredibly poetic and usually tells a story, with the hope to inspire others. She has amazing guitar playing ability, and has comparisons to artists such as Prince, Joan Jett and Jeff Buckley. However, that is not all! Raine has also appeared on season 20 of The Voice.

“So Precarious” was released by Raine at the beginning of 2023, and honestly it is a great way to kick off the new year! This track is one that is groovy and funky, yet it is also so interesting. It has the perfect vibe for dancing around your kitchen, and I honestly just love it!

For this track, all it takes is one listen to realise just how amazing Raine’s vocals are, and she honestly just makes you fall in love with her voice. Her voice has that power to it and the way she presents herself I just incredible!

If you are looking for a groovy, but new and brilliant track, then “So Precarious” is undoubtedly the one for you!

The Art Crimes Band – In The Dark Of The Evening

The Art Crimes Band were founded in 2011 and have been creating amazing rock pop and soul tracks ever since! They are originated from Cork City in Ireland, and work together to make tunes full of energy and funkiness!

“In The Dark Of The Evening” is a banging track that was released, along with a music video, back in 2021! The thing I love about this track is the real band sound, where the music and vocals are just pure!

The beat in this one is steady, yet extremely catchy! The music is just incredible, and every member of The Art Crimes Band is full of talent!

Not only is the music amazing, but the female vocals are also amazing! The Art Crimes Band have also included some fantastic back-up vocals that really compliment the singing in this one! I honestly cannot fault them at all!

“In The Dark Of The Evening” is just a brilliant song, and I cannot recommend this one enough! Go check out this tune and music video on YouTube by The Art Crimes Band now!

Reue – Noise Fantasy

Now Reue is one artist that you definitely have to know about! Ethan Reue (roi-uh), who is from Austin, Texas has been creating new music ever since such a young age, as a soloist but also in bands too! He is very well known for creating underground electro/rave music and I must say, I am a massive fan of his work!

I have previously come across another great track by Reue, however today’s review will be on his most recent single “Noise Fantasy” that has just dropped!

The song starts off extremely upbeat and funky, straight away engrossing you into it! The. Beat is something different and is honestly unreal! This track lacks in vocals, therefore the whole song is based on the music! This track does include some 80s inspiration, however there is no doubt that it is the ultimate rave song!

Reue continuously brings out more and more amazing club hits, and he is definetly growing as an artist! If you are a fan of rave, dance and electro music then you need to go and give Reue’s music a listen to now! “Noise Fantasy” can be found across different music platforms now!

Audio Dope – Round & Round

Luckily for us Audio Dope have returned and created another fantastic track! But first let’s start this off with who is Audio Dope? Audio Dope is a Basel (Switzerland) based artist who began his musical journey by making old fashioned beats that were inspired by the late 90s. This then progressed to him creating instrumental samples with crispy synths and tight drums. He already has been a support act for many artists and has also performed shows at multiple different festivals.

“Round & Round” is a new track that was released at the beginning of this year! This track is very funky and has elements of hip-hop, electric pop and many others! However, Audio Dope has not done this alone, for this track he has teamed up with Noah Slee and together they have truly created a masterpiece!

The energy this song creates is fantastic, with an amazing, catchy beat that you just become addicted to! “Round & Round” is one that will stay in your head all day, and you will definitely love!

Not only is the beat and music incredible, the vocalism in this song is also incredible! His vocals are fairly simplistic, however this just makes the song even more interesting.

If you are in the mood for some variation, then this song is the one for you! With a mixture of genres, you will find yourself entirely engrossed in the song!

BIAS – Amsterdam

BIAS is an amazing Italian producer, composer and artist who has just released a new song, “Amsterdam.” Otherwise known as Gian Luca Biasini, BIAS has loved music ever since the age of six, where he followed his own father’s passion. He is able to play many instruments, and creates music of many different genres, including punk and rap. His music career begun in the 2020 lockdown, and he has not stopped since!

Today’s review is going to be on the new song, that has just been released at the beginning of 2023! “Amsterdam” is an alternative pop/synthwave track, that is full of some amazing music elements! BIAS wrote this song after visiting Amsterdam and is about the aftermath of finding out about a love affair.

The songster’s vocals are very distorted in this track, which give that feeling of confusion and lost. The way his voice is presented is very intriguing and unique, making it even better to listen to!

However, the music is very cinematic and psychedelic. The electronically created sounds almost take us to another dimension and it is just amazing!

There are no words to describe how amazing this song truly is, so you must go give it a listen. It is available across all music platforms now!

Herald K – Circe

Let’s have a little look at Herald K and his newest release, “Circe.” To kick this off, who is Herald K? Well Herald K is a Norwegian singer-songwriter who is based in Vienna. He will be dropping 10 tracks under his album project “Mythologies” in May of this year, and “Circe” is the third one, after ‘Arethusa’ and ‘Wandering Aengus’, from this project.

A song about “Circe”, the infamous witch of antiquity, and of the Odyssey, who by magic potions turns men into swine. The idea of the track being based on a mythological figure is very intriguing and quite unique, so when I heard about it, I could not wait to get started.

A very beautiful element of this song has got to be the amazing vocals. There are male vocals, are his voice is quite distinctive. His voice is one that I would describe as unique and mysterious, which is perfect for the track!

The actual musical side of this song is not usually my cup of tea, with elements of folk and classical music, however the way this has been created is just fantastic!

After hearing this track from the project, I am definitely going to give the other nine a listen to!

Carson Ferris – Drive Alone

Carson Ferris is an American pop artist, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. Carson is originally from Provo, Utah, who has been creating music ever since 2021. He is often described as a combination of a young Michael Jackson and OneRepublic. He has achieved quite a lot so far, including winning a social media contest to be featured in Donny Osmond’s Las Vegas show at Harrah’s in the song, “One Bad Apple”.

Anyway, today’s review will be based on Carson Ferris’ newest single “Drive Alone.” This track is an indie-pop/commercial-pop hit, and it is amazing!

It is undoubtable that the young artist has an exceptional voice. He sings so softly and listening to his voice is pure and I just love it! Carson has such potential and I cannot wait to see him progress as the years go on and more music has been created.

Another thing I love about this song has got to be the music. As Carson can play guitar as it is, the whole band sound that is created is lovely! This song is the perfect break away from more modern day hip-hop and rap that there seems to be a lot of!

You can find Carson Ferris’ track “Drive Alone” on many music platforms today!
