SUNMACHINE – The Nova Effect Album Review

SUNMACHINE have released their brand-new 8 song album, “The Nova Effect” and I cannot express just how amazing it is!

But before we get onto that, let’s have a little look at who SUNMACHINE are. SUNMACHINE are a heavy rock/prog rock band who take on a modern style. They have heavy influences from artists like Alter Bridge, Green Day and Big Wreck. The band have only been making music over the past couple years, but they have been doing exceptionally well.

To begin this album we have, “Who’s It Gonna Be” and this is certainly a brilliant way to kick off the album. The groovy beat just gets us hooked, and you will find yourself dancing along to the track within seconds. Everything about this song is amazing, the music, the vocals and even the lyrics!

My personal favourite from the collection has got to be the sixth track, “The Blindest Eye”. The musical introduction to this track is just amazing, and we can really hear all the musicians’ talents. The vocalist is also exceptional, and there is no denying that he has an incredible voice.

The final piece of the album, “…Where The Heaven Are Hiding” is a short outro to “The Nova Effect”. This track is soft and mellow, which is very different compared to the rest of the featuring songs.

All I can say is go and give “The Nova Effect” a little listen to now!

Cronam – Decompression EP Review

Cronam is an incredible artist who has been making music for years. Beginning in the 90s, we have seen his music progress and his style change.

However, today we are looking at his new short EP “Decompression” which was released earlier this year.

Kicking off with the title track, “Decompression” we find ourselves in love. It has a hard beat, and it certainly one I can imagine hearing at a rave. The music is very unique, but there is something about it that I just love.

Then we have, “Facts”, this yet again another brilliant track, however this one includes some spoken word vocals. This tune has a slightly more mysterious beat to it, but it is still so enjoyable.

The final track of the EP, “By All Means” has got to be my favourite one of them all! The beat is catchy and contagious, and everything about it is just amazing. There is no denying that this is a fantastic way to end the EP as it leaves us eager for more!

Edie Yvonne – Darkness Bliss

Edie Yvonne is an incredible singer-songwriter based in LA, who is only fourteen years old! And throughout the past few years she has created some brilliant music, and today we are looking at her newest piece, “Darkness Bliss”.

“Darkness Bliss” was released at the end of last month, and this indie-pop track is not one to miss.

Kicking off with a mellow, guitar intro, we find ourselves instantly mesmerised by the track. The musical side of this song is very intriguing, and although it is not one you can exactly get up and dance to, it is one that literally anybody can enjoy.

One thing that I love most about this track has got to be Edie’s beautiful vocals. She has a very powerful and talented voice, and it is so hard to believe that she is only fourteen. Edie has so much potential, and I cannot wait to see her and her music progress.

XY Gala – Creatures of Nightmares

XY Gala is a London artist who combines a range of different musical genres, including hip-hop and metal, to create his own unique sound. He has only released a few different tracks, however luckily for us, a brand new single, “Creatures of Nightmares” was released just last month!

This alternative-rock track has everything you could ever ask for in a rock tune. It has incredible music, brilliant vocals, and more importantly it is very enjoyable. The music will have you hooked, and there is no denying that the musicians of this song are very talented.

However, my personal favourite aspect of “Creatures of Nightmares” has got to be XY Gala’s vocals. He has a very strong, but very skilled voice, and I just cannot get enough of it.

Degrees – Pt. V Album Review

“Pt. V” is the newest album release by the amazing Degrees, and I must say it is incredible!

But before we get onto that, let’s have a little look at who created this fantastic album. Degrees are a two-manband, featuring Mikael Jakobsson and Richard Folke. After the pair met back in 2001, they found a mutual love for music and decided to form as a duo in 2008. Since then, they have created some brilliant music, and this album is part of that!

“Pt. V” was just released last year; however, it was actually recorded back in 2012. The album consists of nine different tracks, each one having their own special qualities.

Kicking off with “You Don’t Know What Love Is”, we find ourselves instantly hooked. The track begins very mysteriously, but after about a minute a beat builds up. The music is certainly amazing, and there is no denying that two musicians are incredibly talented.

A track that really caught my eye is “Dear Diary”. This tune is more upbeat, and just makes you want to move tour body. Although this track lasts over six minutes long, there is not a single second that you find yourself bored.

Additionally, “Floods” is a track that we really get to hear the duo’s vocal talent. This song is soft-rock and is my personal favourite of the album!

The final track, “Everywhere All The Time” is a seven-minute track, but it is certainly a brilliant way to end the collection. Everything about this tun is perfect, the music, the composure, the vocals and even the lyrics.

I cannot recommend this album enough, so be sure not to miss out and go and give the “Pt. V” album a little listen to now!

The song kicks off with a slow, mysterious intro, alongside some outstanding vocals, and within seconds we are mesmerised. The music is quite laid-back, however the beat it has will definitely get you bopping your head along to it.

As I previously stated, the vocals in this tune are just absolutely amazing. There is no denying that her vocals are just so pure, and so incredible. She truly has a voice of an angel.

After hearing this track, I am intrigued to hear more music of Patty Duffey.
