Von Krogh – Waves Album Review

Today we are looking at the brand-new album, “Waves” by Van Krogh.

Van Krogh is an incredible artist, who reaches out for his music to be one that is enjoyable but also comforting. His newest album is one that is both of these.

“Waves” consists of nine different tracks, and kicking off the album we have, “Scales”. This is a brilliant track to start with, as it is one in that is intriguing, intense and incredible. It starts off with a mysterious intro and as soon as the vocals begin, we are stunned.

One track that really caught my eye was, “When It Rains”. This tune is just amazing in every way, but my favourite part has to be Van Krogh’s incredible voice. He has a soft, yet powerful voice, and there is no denying that he is extremely skilful. The track has a catchy beat, and it is one that you will undoubtedly find yourself bopping your head to.

“Waves” which is the title track, is actually the longest track on the album, lasting near six minutes long. This track is one that begins with a mysterious, ocean feel, and it is certainly engrossing. The tune is quite a mellow one, allowing Van Krogh’s vocals to really shine through. As the progresses a beat does kick in, adding depth and emotion to the track.

And finally, to close off the collection we have, “How Wrong Could I Be?”. This is the perfect ending to a perfect album, and honestly is just leaves us wanting more. This track is more laid-back, but yet, simultaneously, it is so enjoyable.

I could honestly sit here all day and talk about this album, but instead why don’t you give “Waves” by Van Krogh a listen to now and I can assure you will love it!

Mary Knoblock – Halo Album Review

Mary Knoblock’s newest album, “Halo” is out now, and I can assure you it is not one to miss!

But, before we get onto that, let’s have a little look at who Mary Knoblock is. Mary is an experimental artist who blends many different genres including electronica, jazz, classical and EDM. She has produced over 200 songs and every single one of them is amazing.

Anyways, back to “Halo”. This album consists of fourteen tracks, including live, acoustic and remix versions too.

Kicking off the album we have the title track, “Halo”. This track is an eventful, mysterious tune that lasts over six minutes long. It begins very slowly, and the intense music straight away engrosses us. There are not any vocals for the first few minutes, however soon after a distorted voice comes in. This track may be a slow one, but it is one that you can truly appreciate the music to.

One track that really caught my eye was, “Dance Card June (Acoustic Version). This one really highlights Mary’s incredible voice. She has extreme talent, and her voice is just so melodic and beautiful.

“Lucky”, which is the seventh track, is another fantastic one. This one is quite peaceful and laid-back, and the combination of the music and vocals is just insane.

“Saints Prayer (Avante Garde Version)” is possibly my favourite from the collection. This one has such a surreal, and out of world feeling, and honestly listening to it just whisks you away from reality.

The final track, “Dreamer” is certainly a good one to finish on. This one is slightly more upbeat, and it actually leaves us wanting more.

I cannot put into words how brilliant this album is, so be sure to let Mary take you on her journey and give “Halo” by Mary Knoblock a listen to now!
