IRYS – Borderline

IRYS is a singer-songwriter from Berlin, who creates music of a dark-pop sound. IRYS has taken inspiration from artists such as Lana Del Ray and Billie Eilish and has created a sound of such darkness yet attentiveness.

IRYS experiments with different sounds, ending in a gloomy and haunting atmosphere being present in her sound. Her voice is undoubtedly a perfect match for this song as she has that edgy tone that just engrosses us from the beginning of the song. IRYS voice is something I could listen to on repeat all day and still not get bored, as she is just phenomenal.

The production of the song incorporates a number of unusual, atmospheric, and murky sounds, which add to the element of it being a dark-pop song. The track is almost hypnotic and mesmerising, which leaves us begging to hear more of what IRYS has in store for us!

Please give “Borderline” a listen to, especially if you are a sucker for dark and melancholic songs, and you should love IRYS!

K I T – When We Say Goodbye

The Liverpool-originated artist K I T, is making his way through the charts, captivating more and more people to his music.

His new release “When We Say Goodbye” is an indie-rock, pop inspired track, with lots of warmth. The track is memorable and includes the use of acoustics and beautiful melodies.

The song has a soft and comforting texture to it, drawing us into the song with a feeling of consolation. The music is so incredible and pure in this track, and I love the rock influences that “When We Say Goodbye” possesses.

Without a doubt, the vocalism of K I T, is absolutely amazing! His voice is not autotuned and he sings with such rawness and emotion. His singing reminds me of artists such as Ed Sheeran and he honestly has so much potential in his voice.

I cannot recommend K I T and his new song “When We Say Goodbye” enough, so please go and give this track a listen to. You can find it on platforms such as Spotify!

Ajay’s “Talking Loud” takes inspiration from genres such as rock, funk, blues, country, and soul. The song has a joyful and triumphing delivery, with a groovy upbeat sound for the entire duration of the song. Energy Whores – Psycho Chemistry

Energy Whores are a synth, indie rock artist, who reach out with the intention of bringing politics and social consciousness into music. Although this may seem fairly peculiar, it is an especially important topic, and their music raises awareness for younger people on these topics.

“Psycho Chemistry” is a track full of surprises, techno beats, synth patterns and interesting sounds. The track is upbeat and steady and has inspiration from rock, electro pop and even disco. Energy Whores have given their music an edgy feel to it, with lyrics to match. They sing about threatening their enemies and slashing people’s eyes, and this almost brings about a sense of fear.

The vocals in “Psycho Chemistry” are perfect for this track as they are soft but come across almost passive aggressive. I must say this kind of track would be absolutely perfect for being featured in a dark or horror film.

If you are yet to listen to Energy Whores, give this track a listen to, you can find it on many platforms, including Spotify!

HURRICAN X – Galop

The Paris born and raised producer and DJ creates incredible hip-hop beats with his amazing technical skills. In this instance, HURRICAN X has collaborated with Fya Nya and 70 Shine, to create the amazing piece “Galop”.

From the second I heard this track I was mesmerised, the vocals, the beat, the production, every single part of this song is outstanding! The basslines and beats are ones that release a positive energy, making you just want to dance to it. I must say HURRICAN X has done exceptionally well with the track, and he defintely deserves the credit.

However, not only is the production of this song great, the two vocalists also do an amazing job! Fya Nya and 70 Shine have two different sounds, yet their voices blend and run so smoothly together. Fya Nya has the perfect hip-hop and R&B tonality, and combined with 70 Shine’s rap style voice, a masterpiece is created!

All the artists in this song are amazing and this track must be heard everywhere! Please give “Galop” a little listen on Spotify, and you will undoubtedly find yourself listening to this song on repeat!

Sarah McGuinness – Christmas Everyday (No More Sad Songs)

Christmas is the most magical time of the year, and who doesn’t love a good Christmas track? With Christmas creeping up on us, that festive joy has begun, and this is one that brings just that!

Sarah McGuinness is a rising vocalist, who has previous worked in film. Sarah decided to re-release her track “Christmas Everyday” and honestly, I absolutely love it!

The entire song is filled with joy, festivity, jolliness, and upbeat tones. Sarah ensured that it is a positive, festive-filled track, that just makes you want to start decorating your tree and getting right into that Christmas spirit! The inclusion of chimes and trumpets enables that Christmassy feel.

I think we can all agree that Sarah’s vocals are absolutely outstanding, with a flawless delivery. Her voice blends exceptionally well with the music and she is accompanied by a children’s choir at various points in the track. The choir gives the track a “carol” sound, and I personally do not think this song can be faulted!

If you are in the mood to get in that festive spirit, give Sarah McGuinness’ Christmas tune a listen to!

Thy Veils – Influx

“Influx” is an incredible synth-pop sounding track, with technological sounds and beats.

The beats within “Influx” are snappy and the sound gives off a very futuristic feel. The song includes bell like sounding bubbly noises, that is very unique compared to other recent hits, yet it is amazing! This is a track that feels like we are being taken into another realm.

As the song progresses, we are welcomed to other insane beats, that are so captivating and interesting, that we just want to hear more of it! Thy Veils’ sound creates a magnificent energy, which allows us to enjoy the track even more.

The vocals are kept to a minimum in “Influx”, however they are very beneficial, as the high notes that are reached blend unexpectedly well with the music.

Thy Veils are releasing a new album, which includes this hit, and I am so excited to see what the album brings us. If you are yet to hear music from Thy Veils, then please give this track a listen to, and I guarantee you will find yourself engulfed within their sound!

Kelly Phoenix – In Your Eyes

Kelly Phoenix is a solo artist from Los Angeles, California, and his new single “In Your Eyes” dropped on 11/11/2022. Kelly creates a sound with inspiration from rock, pop, soul, and classical music, and honestly his music needs to be heard!

“In Your Eyes” was written when a friend of Kelly’s returned from Brazil and started strumming some chords on his guitar and from there the words and melody were born, almost from nowhere.

“In Your Eyes” is a mellow, acoustic song, filled with emotion, power and strength. The song is soulful and featuring just his voice and a guitar brings a beautiful touch to the track, giving it an almost magical feel.

Kelly’s vocals are fantastic in this, as he sings with such emotion and passion. Reminiscent of both George Michael and Michael Jackson, his voice is soft yet with a hint of grittiness that adds power to the track. The vocals are pure and real, and this is like a breath of fresh air compared to some other modern-day artists.

The guitar playing is simplistic, without being one dimensional, enough to accompany the vocals yet not too much to be overbearing and drowning them out. Adding any further instruments would be of a great detriment to the song as the bareness of the track’s sound is what makes this a great song.

Powerful, raw, and emotional are three words I would use to describe this track to someone who has not heard it before, and I cannot wait to hear more music from him!

So, if soulful music, made from the heart, packed full of emotion is your thing then please give Kelly Phoenix’s “In Your Eyes” a little listen and I can assure you that you will not be disappointed.

Notevenstevens – Patina

Notevenstevens is progressively growing artist, who creates unreal sounding instrumentals. He is a songwriter, producer and music enthusiast that takes you into the underground with his uniqueness.

“Patina” is notevenstevens latest single, and it is a great one! He teamed up with Femme Fatene, and together they have created an amazing track.

The music includes very modern, electronic synth beats, which create a surreal atmosphere. This beat is one that makes you want to move your body too and seeks out positivity.

I must say, the vocals in “Patina” are fantastic, as her voice gives off an angelic feel. She sings softly, and her voice takes clear inspiration from other R&B tracks. That is what makes this tune so great, as the combination of R&B and dream pop draws us in with its unfamiliarity.

Have little look below at notevenstevens music, and let them take you into a unreal dimension.

Mia Delamar – Silly

Mia Delamar’s latest drop “Silly” is the perfect R&B, pop song!

The vocals in “Silly” are absolutely fantastic, and her voice is so good you cannot describe it! Mia’s vocalism is ideal for this kind of track, as her performance gives reminders of artists like Mabel, Rihanna and Little Mix. She is a rising superstar, and I am so intrigued to see what else she has in store for us.

The beat in “Silly” is undoubtedly catchy, with a memorable sound. This is the kind of tune that you play on repeat all day. Mia has added the use of back-up vocals to harmonize with lead, which creates a beautiful sounding tune. Mia even has added a little rap to really show the talent of the songster.

If you are a fan of R&B, then Mia Delamar’s “Silly” is a must! You will undoubtedly love this song after the first listen, because I know that I did!
